East Falls is like a small town within a large City. We have all the advantages of being part of Philadelphia and the added benefits of local organizations and businesses which give us a homey feel.
Local businesses of all kinds can be found in the Business Directory. We also have a local civic association, the East Falls Community Council which is dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents. We have a local monthly newspaper, The Fallser, which gives us news and events and is hand delivered to every home. There is a local amateur theater company, the Old Academy Players which puts on several performances a year. There is a annual Flea Market at McMichael Park in June, an annual Bike Race block party in June, and a Fall Festival.
The East Falls Historical Society was recently formed to maintain historical materials and provide information to those doing research. Much information can also be found at the Falls of Schuykill Library, the local branch of the Philadelphia library system, located on Midvale Avenue across from the Mifflin Elementary School.
